Reunion on Lake Traunsee: Successful Grabner boat owners' meeting 2024

Traunsee, Austria - The long-awaited Grabner Boat Owners' Meeting took place again this year at the picturesque Traunsee and brought enthusiasm among the participants.

140 people from five different nations came together to take part in the event.

With 70 Grabner boats, the meeting not only offered an impressive fleet, but also an opportunity for an unforgettable trip together across Lake Traunsee and a river cruise on the Traun.

FRIDAY - ARRIVAL

Friday marked the day of arrival. Most of the participants, equipped with caravans, motorhomes or tents, arrived at the venue at the Ebensee Sailing Club.

After a warm welcome and a participant award ceremony, dinner was served together.

The day concluded with a presentation by the Austrian Water Rescue Organisation (ÖWR), which provided valuable safety tips for the upcoming activities.

SATURDAY - TRAUNSEE ROUND TRIP

On Saturday morning, a cold front brought unexpected cooling, which postponed the planned lake trip until the early afternoon. As the weather cleared, the participants paddled along the eastern shore of Lake Traunsee to the Karbach quarry. After a break, they continued along the impressive rocky shore to the Traunstein. The lake trip finally led to Traunkirchen, where the group wanted to take a short break for an ice cream. However, as wedding photos were being taken, the group decided to paddle on. The bride and groom will certainly remember their special day, on which dozens of Grabner boats adorned the background of their wedding photos.

After returning to the Ebensee sailing club, another delicious dinner was served. Afterwards, those interested explored the more challenging rapids of the Traun to decide whether they were confident enough to take on the river the next day. With 11 full cars, the participants inspected the route together with the experienced members of the ÖWR and discussed the best course of action.

SUNDAY - RIVER TRIP TRAUN

Sunday was all about the highlight of the meeting: the river trip on the Traun. At 9am on the dot, the paddlers were taken by coach from the Ebensee Sailing Club to the boarding point in Lauffen, where the boats were already waiting for them. After inflating the boats, the first participants paddled off. Accompanied by an ÖWR safety boat, which acted as the tail light, the participants enjoyed the challenge of mastering the gentle rapids of the Traun. In summery weather and an exuberant atmosphere, even a few capsizes did not spoil the fun. The mutual support and safety provided by the water rescue service ensured that all participants reached the mouth of the Traun in Lake Traunsee safe and sound.

The meeting ended with an official farewell, but many participants decided to spend another day at the idyllic Traunsee.
